Open Position: UI/UX Designer (Closed, processing applications)

About Mini Pepper Games

Mini Pepper Games is a fully remote independent game studio focused on making games that are small but packed full of flavor. We currently have team members in the US, Italy, France, and Brazil, and candidates from those countries are preferred for this role. We're working on an unannounced cute, nonviolent, 3D exploration platformer for PC about witches.

Your Role

You'll be tasked with deciding on UX flows and creating animated UI mockups for everything from menus to HUDs to in game pop ups, along with doing logo design. Implementation of the UI will be handled by another team member.

An ideal candidate has experience with motion graphics with examples ranging from slick, modern user interfaces to more decorative and unique styles. The game is heavily dialogue driven, and designing the dialogue interfaces will be your most important task, so any experience with that is a strong plus.

The goal is to create an interface that blends the simplified forms and lightly painterly aesthetics of the game with the lively, responsive feeling of great modern user interfaces. We strive for a cohesive aesthetic across the game that reinforces the player fantasy of being a witch, and believe that the user interface is a critical part of selling that fantasy to the player.

The position is on a contract basis. We'll follow up with top candidates with more details on the scope, but it's expected to be a short contract, on the order of weeks. The hours are completely flexible; we don't have any core, mandated hours.
